Get back in the cockpit with confidence
Life happens. Whether it's been months, years, or even decades since you last flew, Greg's Rusty Pilots program is designed to help you safely and confidently return to the skies. We understand the unique challenges facing pilots who have been away from aviation, and we've created a comprehensive program to address them.
Aviation regulations evolve constantly. We'll review all the changes to FARs, airspace classifications, and procedural updates that have occurred since you last flew. Stay current with the latest requirements and best practices.
From GPS navigation to electronic flight bags (EFBs), aviation technology has advanced significantly. We'll familiarize you with modern avionics, navigation tools, and how to integrate them safely into your flying.
Refresh your understanding of weather theory, meteorology, and modern weather resources. Learn to use current weather briefing tools and make sound go/no-go decisions with confidence.
Review aircraft systems, performance, and limitations. Whether you're returning to the same type of aircraft or transitioning to something new, we ensure you understand every aspect of your aircraft.
Our flight training is tailored to your experience level and how long you've been away. We start slowly and build progressively, ensuring you regain proficiency at a comfortable pace.
Greg understands the apprehension that comes with returning to flying. His calm, supportive approach helps you rebuild confidence at your own pace.
Every rusty pilot is different. We customize the program based on your previous experience, how long you've been away, and your specific goals.
We concentrate on areas where rust has accumulated while efficiently reviewing what you still remember well, making the most of your time and budget.
Safety is paramount. We ensure you're not just legal, but truly proficient and confident before you fly solo again.
Most rusty pilots complete the program in 10-20 hours of flight time, depending on their previous experience and time away from flying. Ground school can be conducted at your pace, either in dedicated sessions or integrated with flight training.
We'll discuss your aviation background, review your logbook, and create a customized training plan tailored to your needs.
Progress through ground school topics and flight phases at a pace that works for you. Most students train 2-3 times per week.
Complete your BFR (Flight Review) as part of the program, meeting all FAA requirements while rebuilding your skills and confidence.
Graduate from the program ready to fly as pilot-in-command with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to make safe decisions.
Don't let time away from flying keep you grounded. Whether it's been a few months or many years, Greg's Rusty Pilots program can help you safely and confidently return to the cockpit.
